It is hard to believe that over 20 years ago, in September 1998, the first US edition of the UK’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was published. No one could have predicted the wildly successful book sales and box office smashing blockbusters that would follow. Harry Potter has since become a phenomenon with millions of loyal fans around the world.

Immerse yourself in the wizarding world of Harry Potter by following this chauffeur-driven spellbinding itinerary, a fun adventure for Muggles and Wizards alike! Discover the famous film locations, see where JK Rowling found her inspiration and where the magic all began.

Day 1 – Welcome to England

Arrive at Heathrow Airport where your chauffeur will meet you and take you to your luxury hotel in central London.

Afternoon is free to rest and relax after your overnight flight.

Day 2 – Magical London

After breakfast, your very own driver guide will take you on a full day tour around London showing off its magical sites in addition to the city’s classic attractions.

See the entrance to the Leaky Cauldron and walk along the alleyways and medieval winding roads that were JK Rowling’s inspiration for Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley.

Visit King’s Cross station and try your luck at getting through the wall to Platform 9 ¾ !

Day 3 – Warner Bros. Studios

Embark on a day of pure enchantment exploring the world of Harry Potter at the Warner Bros Studios, the place that brings this famous saga to life! Go behind-the-scenes and see a huge array of beautiful sets, costumes and props. Discover some closely guarded secrets and perhaps ride on a broomstick and don’t forget to choose your own wand! Return transfers are included.

Once back in London, the rest of afternoon is at your leisure.

Day 4 – The Real Hogwarts

Today, your driver guide will take you to Oxford to visit the real Hogwarts. Walk the same mysterious hallways Harry, Hermione and Ron once did; see the great Hogwarts Dining Hall and admire the gothic vaulted ceiling of Hogwarts Infirmary where young Harry was recovering from his first big confrontation with Voldemort. Wander around this beautiful city and look out for the many grotesques along the walls of the college buildings, and their resemblance to the statues Professor McGonagall awakes to defend Hogwarts.

Day 5 – Welcome to Scotland

After a leisurely breakfast, your chauffeur will take to Kings Cross station for your relaxing train journey to Scotland (approx. 4.5hrs). On the way you will pass through the beautiful English countryside of Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and Northumberland; through the Scottish Borders and on to Edinburgh.

Stay at the iconic Balmoral hotel where JK Rowling finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book.

Day 6 – Harry Potter’s Edinburgh

Meet your guide in the morning and discover Harry Potter’s Edinburgh.  With cobbled streets, winding alleys and medieval architecture, the city certainly has a few things in common with the settings from the books and films. Visit locations the author wrote the first two Harry Potter books and a spine-tingling graveyard where you’ll find Thomas Riddell, William McGonagall and Elizabeth Moodie graves. Finish your day with a visit to dramatic Edinburgh Castle.

In the evening, delve into the city’s ghostly past and visit Edinburgh’s most haunted vaults. Your cloaked guide will take you through the eerie closes of the Old Town whilst telling you the stories of the gripping true tales that lie beneath the streets

Day 7 – Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Spend today with your driver guide exploring Alnwick Castle, proudly known as the ‘Windsor of the North’. This magnificent castle is famous for its starring role as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the first two Harry Potter films.

Imagine yourself a Hogwarts student and join the Castle’s resident wizard professors in a broomstick training session on the very spot where Harry had his first flying lesson.

Come back to Edinburgh and the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 8 – Mysterious Highlands

After a leisurely breakfast, leave Edinburgh and travel to beautiful West Highlands. Enjoy a scenic drive through the spectacular Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Take some photos of Loch Etive, where Harry and the gang were dropped after fleeing from Gringott’s Bank in the final movie and stop for lunch at Hagrid’s Hut. Continue your journey through Glencoe, one of the most impressive landscapes in Scotland before arriving at your destination – Inverlochy Castle.

Day 9 – The Hogwarts Express

Every Potter fan dreamed of boarding the Hogwarts Express and today you will relive the magic with a journey on the Jacobite Steam Train. Sit back and enjoy the ride over the magnificent 21-arched Glenfinnan Viaduct whilst admiring the view of Hogwarts Lake.

Enjoy lunch in bustling harbour village of Mallaig before hopping back on the train for your return journey to Fort William.

Day 10 – Inverlochy Castle

Today is a leisurely day to enjoy Inverlochy Castle. Go for a stroll around its beautiful grounds; try clay pigeon shooting or off-road driving. Or perhaps take an idyllic walking tour through the nearby dramatic Nevis Gorge and visit the cascading waterfalls, featured in the movie when Harry faces down a Hungarian Horntail dragon in the Triwizard Tournament.

Day 11 – Journey Back 

Say good bye to the West Highlands and travel back to Edinburgh for your final night in Scotland.

Once in Edinburgh, the rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 12 – Departure

Your chauffeur will take you to the airport for your return flight home.
